Message As far as the stock rear locations go, I installed some 6.5" woofers that are powered of an amp running at 120W @ 4 Ohms to each. The woofers came with component tweeters that are mounted in the hatch panels just near where the hatch strut mounts to the hatch. I used my exsisting BOSE boxes, however, I took the tops of them off and used a silicone adhesive sealent and put them back together. I also used silicone to seal the speaker's rim to the box itself, then sealed off any remaining holes. After all was dry, I tested the set-up with some tunes with good bass. Using my hand (just as one would with exhaust leaks) I felt around for any remaining puffs of air coming from the boxes...and sealed them up. The sound is very good! The 6.5 woofers hit very good. If you are looking for a good increase in bass at a reasonable level, these do the trick well!

Additionally, I added two 10"s to the back. I built these boxes myself. They are built with the right amount of space for the speaker. These boxes are completely sealed. Each corner/edge was sealed on the inside with silicone and on the outside with poly-fiber body fill. They are also different from others out there, as I built them with an angled lean to the top. They are really very small and take up no "usable room". By that, I mean they only really take up the little dead spots on the sides. T tops fit in perfectly with only the glass parts laying on top of each other. The angle to the boxes also allows for the sound to use the back hatch glass more than a downward of center facing speaker. With the back hatch open, they give good sound....but with the back closed....these things hit hard!!!!!

I know you said that it is not your style, but thought that I would throw them out there.

PS. Just a practicality check.....I have had no problem haulin over $250 bucks in groceries back from the store to feed the little ones with this setup.
